Jon Horner

A Service of Celebration, prior to cremation, for the life of Jon Horner, beloved partner of Penny, who died quietly at home, aged 89 years, was held at Le Foulon Chapel and was conducted by Annette Henry, Celebrant. The opening music was Summertime by Miles Davis. Included in the service was a Poem, There was a Tree, written by Jon and read by his daughter, Jaseon. The Eulogy, with tributes from the family, was given by Annette Henry. During a period for contemplation, Albatross by Fleetwood Mac was played, followed by the Poem, Do not stand at my grave and Weep written by Mary Elizabeth Frye read by his grandson, Ed. The closing music was Moonglow by Erroll Garner.   

Mourners were: Penny Hill, parter; Joanna Scott, daughter and John Scott, son-in-law; Jaseon Horner, daughter (also representing their mother, Maggie Kalupka) and partner, Carlos Gilbride; Ed Scott, grandson (also representing Will Scott, grandson).

Flowers were from: The Family.

Donations in lieu of flowers were to be sent to Les Bourgs Hospice, Rue du Tertre, St Andrews, GY6 8SF.

The arrangements were by Martels Funeral Services Ltd. with Joan Ozanne supervising.
