David Thompson

A Service of Celebration for the Life of David Edward John Thompson, dearly loved husband of Diana, who died peacefully at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, aged 65 years, was held at the Town Church and was conducted by the Revd Dr Adrian Datta. Included in the service was the Eulogy given by Samuel Thompson, brother, Reflections given by Advocate Gordon Dawes and “What Dad meant to Us” given by Jamie, George and Clementine. The Bible Reading, John 14: 1-7 read by Richard Vowles, Psalm 23 read by Clara De Montfort and the Poem, Sea Fever by John Masefield read by Clementine. Reflective music included Sailing by Rod Stewart and Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy. The Recessional Music was the Theme to Local Hero, Going Home by Mark Knopfler.     

The organist, Stephen Le Prevost, accompanied the singing of He who would valiant be, Eternal Father, strong to save and Jerusalem.
