Derek Sargent

The funeral service for Derek Alfred Sargent, loved husband of the late Jeanne who died peacefully at Chateau du Village Nursing Home, aged 89, was held at St Matthew’s Church, Cobo and was conducted by The Revd Linda Le Vasseur. Opening the service was the music, Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley. Included in the service was a Poem, Pop, read by Emma, granddaughter from all the grandchildren and great-children. Memories of Derek and the Bible Reading from 1 Corinthians 13 read by Revd Le Vasseur. During a period for quiet reflection, Three Coins in a Fountain by Frank Sinatra was played. The recessional music was The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by Ennio Morricone.
The organist, Diane Brown, accompanied the singing of The Lord’s My Shepherd (Crimond) and Abide with me, fast falls the eventide.
The service was followed by private cremation.
