Howard Roberts KC OBE

A service to Honour the Life of Howard Edward Roberts KC OBE, dearly loved husband to Jan, father of Ben and Will, grandad to Pip, Isaac and Rafi and best friend of Barack, who died peacefully at home, aged 69, was held at St Andrew’s Parish Church and was conducted by The Dean, The Very Revd Tim Barker. Included in the service were the Bible Readings, Psalm 8: 1, 3-5, 9 read by Darryl Ogier, Psalm 46: 1-5, 9, 10 read by Robert Titterington and Revelation 21: 1-7 read by Helen Wills. The Tribute was given by Ben and Will Roberts, sons and Chris Hookway. During a time of reflection, Will and Ben played a Cello Duet, “Minuets from Cello Suite I, BMV 1007 – J S Bach, arr. Roberts” and Pie Jesu from Fauré’s Requiem was sung by soloist Sally Henderson.
The organist, Kate Meakin, accompanied the singing of the hymns, How great thou art, Be still and know that I am God and The day thou gavest, Lord is ended.
The service was followed by private cremation.
