David Amory

The funeral service for David James Adrian Amory, husband of Barbara, who died peacefully at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, aged 80, was held at St Stephen’s Parish Church and was conducted by Father Joe Thompson. Prior to the service a selection of music from the Royal Marine Band was played. A Guard of Honour formed outside the Church prior to the coffin entering. Included in the service was the Eulogy given by Peter Amory, son and the Scripture Reading 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, 12-13 read by Fr Joe. Prior to the Committal, The Last Post, was played. The Recessional Music was Sunset by Royal Marine Band, Sailing by Ships Company and Band from HMS Ark Royal 1977, during which the coffin was taken out through an Honour Guard.
The organist, Felicity Millard, accompanied the singing of Eternal Father, Strong to Save, Amazing Grace and I the Lord of Sea and Sky.
The service was followed by private cremation.
