Dennis Bougourd

Requiem Mass for Dennis (Dan) Peter Bougourd, husband of Phyllis, who died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, aged 78, was held at St Joseph’s Church and was celebrated by Canon Christopher Rutledge. The Entrance Hymn was Abide with me; fast falls the eventide. Included in the service were the Readings, Isaiah 25: 6-9, The Lord will destroy death forever, read by Sean Bougourd, son, Romans 14: 7-12, Alive or dead, we belong to the Lord, also read by Sean Bougourd, and Gospel, Luke 24: 13-35, The road to Emmaus, read by Canon Rutledge. The Recessional Hymn was, As I kneel before you.    

The organist, Luke O’Donnell, accompanied the singing of all hymns, including the Psalm Hymn, Be still, for the presence of the Lord and the Communion Hymn, Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father. The service was followed by private cremation.
