The funeral service, prior to cremation, for Eric Harold Taylor, widower of Eileen, who died at Les Bourgs Hospice, aged 85, was held at Le Foulon Chapel and was conducted by Celebrant, Annette Henry. Included in the service was a poem written by Catherine, daughter, the Eulogy, including contributions from the family and the poem, Sonnet, by Rupert Brooke read by Marianne, granddaughter. During a period of contemplation, including a photo montage, Stardust, as performed by Nat King Cole, was played. The recessional music was Smoke gets in your eyes as performed by The Platters.  

Mourners were: Catherine Taylor Burden, daughter and Richard Burden, son-in-law; Christopher Taylor, son (also representing Rosaire Care Team); Louise Dyer, daughter and Martin Dyer, son-in-law; Marianne Burden, granddaughter; Freddie Burden, grandson; George Dyer, grandson; Paul Helyer, nephew (also representing Peter and Paulette Barnes, John and Margaret Helyer, Patricia English USA and Tina Lye).

Also present were: Christian Roussel (also representing Annette Roussel, Delma Roussel and Anna Atkinson); Angela Pearce; Paul White (also representing Joanne White); Molly Guerin (also representing the Guerin family, Julie Long, Dorothy Sweet and Colin Sweet); Christine Guerin (also representing Terry Guerin); Dave Guerin; Nick Le Pavoux; Jean Dyer; Rosemary and Robert (Monty) Montgomery;

Maureen Martin (also representing Meg Martin, Gary Martin and Louise Grech); Jeanette Allen; John Hunter; Vic Richer (also representing David Le Tissier); Toni and Mike Read; Jill Richardson; Philip and Elaine Lockett; Paul Nicolle and Joanna Duquemin Nicolle; Helen and Steve Allen (also representing Amy, Jess, Jack and Harry); Pago, Esther and Eben Le Page (also representing Frida Le Page and Laura Mauger).

Donations in lieu of flowers were to be sent to Les Bourgs Hospice, Rue du Tertre, St Andrew’s, Guernsey GY6 8SF.

The arrangements were by Martels Funeral Services Ltd. with Paul Bougourd supervising.
