Diana Nicole

A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Diana Mary Nicole (née Bachmann, formerly de la Rue), widow of the late Christopher, who died peacefully at Highfield House Care Home aged 94 was held at The Town Church on Saturday 22 February, conducted by The Revd Penny Graysmith and The Revd Beverley Hervé. Opening the service was the music, Nimrod from the Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar. Psalms 121 and 123: 1-3, 6 were read by Kay Davis, daughter. Tributes were given by Colin de la Rue, son, Kay Davis, daughter, Liv Davis, granddaughter and Nigel de la Rue, son. The Benedictus from the Requiem by May de la Rue, 2016, arrangement for organ and oboe, was sung by Joan Le Flem with May de la Rue and a consort from the Town Church Choir. Organist, Stephen Le Prevost, accompanied the piece and the signing of the hymns, He who would valiant be, Jerusalem and Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son.
