Doris Marquis

The funeral service for Doris May Marquis (née Robins), widow of Ted, who died peacefully at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, aged 101, was held at St Mary’s Church and was conducted by the Revd Jan Le Billon. Included in the service was the Bible Reading, John 14: 1-6, 27, read by Brian Le Prevost, family friend and the Poem, with words from Daniel O’Donnell’s song, Beyond the Rainbows End, read by Pat Kilby, family friend. The Tribute and Address and the Commendation and Committal were given by Revd Le Billon. During the time of reflection, Morning has Broken by Daniel O’Donnell was played and the Recessional Music was, We’ll meet again by Vera Lynn.

The organist, Nickie Paul, accompanied the singing of What a friend we have in Jesus, Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine and Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father.

The service was followed by private cremation.
