Cecilia Mabire

The funeral service for Cecilia May Mabire (née Vidamour), who died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, aged 80, was held at Castel Parish Church and was conducted by the Rt Revd Nick Drayson. Included in the service was the opening music, Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. Tributes from the family were written by Tina and Gary and read by Revd Drayson who also read the Bible Reading, John: 14, 1-6. During a period of reflection, In the Arms of an Angel by Sarah McLachlan was played and to end the service, My Way by Kelly Wing. The organist, Philip Bond, accompanied the singing of All things bright and beautiful and Morning has broken. The service was followed by private interment.

Rose Mahy, niece (also representing Marcia, Wayne and family); Marleen Lihou, niece (also representing the family); Jackie Toms, niece; Karen Smith, niece; Jeannie Torode, niece (also representing Tim Torode); Melanie Ison, great-niece (also representing Tom Rihoy, great-nephew); John and Margaret Helyer, cousins (also representing Pat English, New York State, U.S.A.); Shirley Fallaize, cousin; Valerie Ogier, cousin (also representing June Le Cheminant, cousin); Faye Le Sauvage, cousin.

Also present were: Connie De La Haye; Grace Mcilroy; Maria Pinta (also representing Bridgette, Dulcie and all staff on Corbiere Ward); Ruth and Marcus Le Tissier; Joy Dodd (also representing Ken and family); Janet and Tom O’Connor. Not present but wishing to be represented – Justin Mahy; Joseph Mahy; Geoffrey Mahy.
Flowers were from: Tina and Gary. James, Sean, Aidan and Alfie. Ellie and Jody. Gwen and family. Elaine, Jackie, Sally, Jeannie and families.

Donations in lieu were to be sent to Lungevity Guernsey, c/o Treasurer, Mr R Harrison, Belle Fleur, Rue des Francais, Vale, GY3 5NL.
